The last story has been read, the last tooth has been brushed, the last block has been painfully tripped over. Just another relaxing weekend in the Holland household! How was everyone’s weekend? Brian and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary by going out to dinner at Flora Lima in Covent Garden (Peruvian, delish), followed by a brilliant performance of Miss Saigon at Prince Edward Theatre. I haven’t seen his play in many years and it definitely tugged at all the heart strings! Yes I am an emotional wreck during pregnancy. We spent this gorgeous fall day in Primrose Hill with friends for brunch and loads of playground action. Can’t beat London in the fall.
I have to share an incredible testimonial I received from BBC member Kim Hodge. Although Kim’s been nursing a sore foot as of late, if you’ve seen her recently you wouldn’t believe the transformation she has undergone! Here is what’s in store for the week:
Monday: Strengthen and lengthen: Tone up all over and lengthen your physique with a specific sequence that leaves no muscle untouched. A must for anyone looking to achieve definition in abs and arms.
Tuesday: Sixty Second Sweaty Circuit: loads of cardio, planks, and strength drills to have you glowing all day!
Thursday: the Feel-Good Workout: The cheapest therapy in London. Get those happy endorphins flowing, balance your mood swings, find yourself smiling at strangers without popping a single pill. All it takes is a little light cardio, a few isometric holds, and some deep stretching to relieve that unnecessary tension that drags us mothers down! Don’t deny yourself an hour of pure stress relief. Grab a friend and share the joy.
A quick recipe I have to share from my favorite recipe inspo site (toneitup.com)… This will quell any French fry (or chips, whatever you call them?!) craving you may be having with the cooler weather upon us. My kids gobbled them up so chalk one in the kid approval category:
Baked Veggie Fries:
2 1/2 cups of parsnips (my favorite), carrots, and beets, cut into 1/2″ strips
1 tbs fresh rosemary, finely chopped
1 tbs fresh thyme, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp sea salt or pink Himalayan salt
Fresh ground pepper to taste.
Preheat oven to 225C. Mix veggies, rosemary, garlic, thyme and oil on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with remaining seasonings and toss to coat. Spread veggies out in a single layer on baking sheet and roast for 15-20 minutes or until desired crispness. If desired, serve with your favorite dipping sauce!
